MWDSI President’s Message
Dear MWDSI Colleagues,
It is with immense honor and a deep sense of responsibility that I accept the role of President of the Midwest Decision Sciences Institute (MWDSI). I am profoundly grateful to each of you for entrusting me with this distinguished position.
My journey with DSI began during my doctoral studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Over the years, my involvement has been extensive and fulfilling, ranging from session and track chair roles to serving as the chair of the virtual MWDSI 2022 conference at Oakland University. Elected as a board member and treasurer in 2020, I served until April 2023, when I transitioned to the role of President-elect. These diverse experiences have significantly shaped my understanding and appreciation of our vibrant community.
MWDSI stands on a foundation built since 1970, representing an extensive and diverse region that includes 15 states: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Western Pennsylvania. This geographical breadth is a testament to the diversity and richness of our institute.
As President, my foremost objective is to cultivate a transparent, collegial environment through close collaboration with our dedicated board members. Ensuring active member engagement and support will be at the core of our agenda. These priorities will guide us as we strive for growth and sustain our steadfast support for DSI.
I encourage you to regularly visit our website for the latest news and initiatives. Additionally, I warmly invite you to participate in our annual conference. Together, we can continue to shape the future of MWDSI, fostering a community where every member’s contribution is valued and recognized.
Thank you for your trust and support.
Warm regards,
Osman Aydas
President
