Dear Colleagues, Students, and Friends,
On behalf of the Midwest Decision Sciences Institute (MWDSI) Board and the conference team, I am pleased to invite you to the 2027 MWDSI Annual Conference at Central Michigan University (CMU) on April 9-10, 2027.
With the theme “Decision Sciences in Action: Bridging Theory and Practice”, the 2027 MWDSI is more than an opportunity to present research and exchange academic ideas. It also connects our studies to the challenges, opportunities, and innovations of today’s business environment.
At CMU, our Department of Management is the home of Alpha Iota Delta (Sigma Mu), an honor society that actively connects students, faculty, and industry professionals. Through its Industry Insights and Guest Speaker initiatives, we have developed a network of professionals and organizations that can contribute to meaningful panel discussions, keynote presentations, and professional conversations throughout the conference.
Our Department of Management has also built a signature case-competition culture with industry partners who already provide students with real, live problems, data, and executive feedback. That same network gives 2027 MWDSI a strong foundation for a distinctive case competition.
I invite you not only to share your research, but also to build relationships, exchange ideas, discover new perspectives, and explore opportunities for collaboration.
For faculty and researchers, the 2027 MWDSI Conference provides an environment to share emerging research, receive feedback, and connect with colleagues across the Midwest and beyond.
For students, the 2027 MWDSI Conference offers opportunities to participate in the case competition, interact with experienced scholars and business professionals, and gain a deeper understanding of how academic knowledge can be translated into professional practice.
For business professionals, the 2027 MWDSI Conference offers a chance to engage with educators and students, share real-world experiences, introduce current business challenges, and help develop future business leaders.
