2025 MIDWEST DECISION SCIENCES CONFERENCE

GRADUATE AND UNDERGRADUATE PAPER COMPETITIONS

The MWDSI Student Paper Competition offers an exciting opportunity for both graduate and undergraduate students to showcase their research and compete for cash prizes. The competition includes two categories: Graduate Student Contest and Undergraduate Student Contest, with prizes awarded to the top three winners in each category (1st place: $250, 2nd place: $150, 3rd place: $50). Additionally, all student participants have the chance to compete for the Social Media Award ($200), which recognizes the research pitch video with the most engagement. Papers must follow the DSI paper template format, be a maximum of 8 pages (including references), and have no more than eight co-authors, with the majority of work completed by students.

The Social Media Award requires students to submit a 3-minute pitch video of their forthcoming research talk at MWDSI. Videos must be hosted on YouTube (as an unlisted video) and shared on LinkedIn. The winner will be determined based on the number of YouTube “likes” by Friday, April 4, at 5 PM EST. To participate, students must email their video links to lanhamm@purdue.edu with the subject line: “MWDSI Social Media Submission”. Please note that using bots or artificial means to boost likes will result in disqualification.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain recognition for your research and connect with fellow scholars. Submit your paper and video for a chance to win!
